How long does a Rolex Daytona service take?

Rolex Daytona Service Time

Before sending a Rolex Daytona for service to a Rolex Service Centre, a question many people have, is how long does it take to get my Rolex Serviced? That is an important issue. It would be good to know how long Rolex takes to service a watch.

Rolex Service Time : 6 to 8 weeks

Rolex's average time to service a Rolex Daytona watch is 6 weeks turnaround. If you send your Rolex Daytona by post, you need to add a week to 10 working days for the parcel to be received and returned. So, you need to plan for an average of 8 weeks turnaround time to service your Rolex Daytona.

Rolex owners had reported faster service turnaround when the Rolex Daytona was dropped off and picked up directly at the Rolex Service Centre.

To make sure the Rolex Service is no longer than necessary, you need to approve and authorize Rolex to service your Rolex Daytona as soon as you receive the Rolex Service Center estimation and costs.

Rolex Service Centre - Drop off & pick-up

Rolex SA has dedicated Rolex Service Centres across the world. When a Rolex Daytona needs service, it will be done in your own country at a Rolex Service Centre. Rolex watches are not usually sent back to Switzerland for servicing.

If a Rolex Service Centre is available in your city, you can make an appointment to drop off your watch. You will also be able to pick it up when serviced. You can contact Rolex Customer Service in your country to arrange the appointment, a Rolex representative will be able to assist you. Rolex owners are welcome in a lounge and can drop off their Rolex watch. The welcome and service are excellent.

Sadly, not everyone has a Rolex Service Centre nearby. I have heard people using their holiday in Singapore to have their Rolex Daytona Service.

Rolex Local Retailer - Drop off & pick-up

The network of Rolex retailers does provide aftercare service, even if you did not buy the Rolex in their Store.

Note: The name of the Rolex Dealer where the Rolex Daytona is purchased is found on the green plastic card you got when you receive the watch.

The local Rolex retailer will not service the watch but act as a drop-off and pickup point. You can drop off your Rolex watch to a local authorized Rolex dealer and they will be able to send it back to Rolex for servicing. If you don't know where your nearest Rolex Boutique or Authorized Roled store is, there is a store locator on the Rolex website.

It is not clear if Google maps makes a difference between an official Rolex store and any other store selling Rolex watches. Therefore, I recommend using to access an up to date list of Rolex dealers in your local area.

Sending Your Rolex Daytona by Mail

After contacting the Rolex Service Centre, you will receive instructions on how to send your Rolex for service. The document outlines the Rolex procedures under which you have to send a watch to the Rolex Service Centre.

Most importantly, do not send your Rolex Daytona before receiving the Rolex Service Centre instructions. Rolex has rigid protocols that you have to follow for sending your Rolex watch to them. Rolex Service Centres have specific instructions about wrapping your Rolex watch and even the kind of tape you must use to seal the box.

If you do not follow the instructions, Rolex will return the parcel unopened.

Rolex Service Center Mailing Instructions

The instructions can change, so you need to follow the information Rolex will send you. For you to get a general idea of what a Rolex Service Centre will ask, here is an overview:

  1. Remove and complete the bottom portion of the Rolex form. The completed form must be included in the parcel with your Rolex Daytona.
  2. Package your Rolex Daytona using a sturdy box. The Rolex Daytona should be secure and not move inside the box.
  3. Do not use or send the original Rolex box you got when you purchased your Rolex Daytona.
  4. Rolex recommends wrapping the Rolex Daytona in a few layers of soft tissue paper followed by a layer of bubble wrap.
  5. Fill the box with tissue paper or any other packing material. Place your Rolex Daytona watch in the middle of the box.
  6. The packing material should restrict the Rolex Daytona from moving within the box.
  7. On top of the packing material, place the completed form along with the relevant documentation such as the Rolex warranty card, if applicable.
  8. Be sure to complete the Rolex's form legibly in order to ensure accurate processing in the Rolex Service Centre database.
  9. Close and secure all sides of the box with brown PAPER tape. In order to avoid tampering and ensure package integrity: Do not use plastic tape.
  10. Address your package to your selected Rolex Service Centre.

Rolex Daytona Green Warranty Card

The Rolex Daytona watch needs to be sent with the Rolex warranty green plastic card. If you do not have the card, I suggest contacting the Rolex Service Centre for advice before you send your watch.

Send Registered Mail

The parcel with your Rolex Daytona needs to be sent registered mail. The system is different for every country; ask your local post office: the parcel needs a tracking number and the receiver to sign for it. It is best if the parcel tracking is available to see online.

You can also take insurance for safe delivery, if it becomes lost or damaged the insurance will cover up to a certain value. The insurance will ask you to declare the content and value.
